On 16 October 2025, AUTOCONTROL successfully held its first in-person conference on Advertising and Artificial Intelligence: Ethical and Regulatory Challenges, which brought together over one hundred professionals from the advertising industry, academic, and public administration.
The session was opened by a representative of the Spanish Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function. During his intervention, he underlined the importance of the event and commended AUTOCONTROL’s efforts in helping companies and professionals navigate compliance with the upcoming EU AI Act.
The conference featured high-level contributions from representatives of public authorities, AUTOCONTROL member companies — including the Coca-Cola Company, Dentsu, Google, Meta, Prisa, and Publicis — and AUTOCONTROL experts in the field. With Vodafone as venue partner, the event received very positive feedback from participants, who highlighted both the relevance of the discussions and the usefulness of the insights shared.
During the conference, the main legal and ethical challenges posed by AI in the advertising sector were examined in depth. Several presentations focused on key issues, including the legal and strategic implications of AI in relation to advertising and transparency, unfair competition law, intellectual property rights, and data protection regulations.
