On 28 November, AUTOCONTROL held its final Board meeting of the year, reflecting on the organisation’s activities and achievements in 2024. The meeting highlighted the continued commitment of member companies to uphold legal, ethical and responsible advertising standards.
During the year, over 30,000 advertising campaigns were reviewed using AUTOCONTROL’s Copy Advice® tool. In addition, more than 5,500 ethical consultations were handled, highlighting the proactive approach to ensuring compliance in advertising practices.
A notable development for 2024 was the introduction of a new consultancy service designed to analyse advertising campaign projects and websites prior to the design of specific advertising materials. This addition complements existing support services, including Copy Advice®, Data Advice® and Cookie Advice®, which provide advice on advertising and data protection.
Thanks to the widespread use of these services, the number of advertising complaints submitted to the Autocontrol Jury remained stable at a low level. In addition, the mediation systems set up under the AUTOCONTROL Data Treatment Code and the Data Mediation Protocol handled nearly 2,200 complaints, the majority of which were resolved without the need for administrative intervention. The number of companies benefiting from compliance with the Data Protection Code continues to increase.
In a positive sign of growth, AUTOCONTROL welcomed 54 new members this year, bringing the total number of members to 649. The association also celebrated record attendance at its training activities, organising 32 events with over 4,000 registrations.
Finally, one of the key issues addressed by the Board members was the celebration of our 30th anniversary, which will take place in 2025, a milestone that will be a historic moment for all our members.
The Board also took the opportunity to elect new members to the Advertising Jury and to approve the budget for the coming year.
