What is the data protection and advertising complaint handling system?
The new out-of-court Data Protection and Advertising Complaints System is being implemented following the approval by the Spanish Data Protection Agency of AUTOCONTROL’s Code of Conduct for the Processing of Data in Advertising Activities.
The system will allow users who feel that their data protection rights have been violated in the context of an advertising activity to lodge a complaint, free of charge, through an agile, effective, rapid and accredited mechanism against companies that have complied with the Code. In addition, adherence to the Code brings important benefits to member companies. You can find out more by clicking on whether you are a user or a business.

Adherence to the Code is open to members and non-members of AUTOCONTROL, but it is free for members. If you are a member or not and you want to adhere to it, you can fill in this form and send it to us at

The filing of complaints by consumers will be active from January 1st, 2021.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We mediate to reach an
agreement in less than
30 days.
3.
If mediation fails, you can
ask the Advertising Jury
to intervene.
WHO CAN REQUEST IT?
Anyone who believes that an advertising activity does not comply with the data protection rules can lodge a complaint. The procedure is completely free of charge for consumers.
